A bit about me:
1993: Grew up in my dad’s pizzeria, Georgee’s Pizza, and spent much of growing up washing dishes, delivering pizzas, and taking orders (not great at cooking).
2015: Joined DoorDash shortly after college when there was ~ 100 people. Was responsible for opening up DoorDash in new markets and eventually helped start and run DoorDash Drive.
2018: Consulted and built enterprise technology for Applebee’s, IHOP, Blaze Pizza, Dave’s Hot Chicken and others to help them grow both 3rd party delivery orders and direct sales. Was responsible for ~ $1B/year in digital sales — chart of the impact at Applebee’s below:
2019: Started helping restaurants grow sales through virtual brands and technology to optimize 3rd party marketplace sales, helping drive hundreds of millions of dollars to local businesses.
2024: Combined everything I’ve learned about restaurants, off-premises, and digital to start Open with the mission of leveraging AI to help restaurants make more while working less. Partnered with Jeff Han (a colleague from DoorDash) and Ravi Gupta (ex-COO/CFO at Instacart) at Sequoia to make that happen.
